The racetrack is the safest environment, but out of reach for many. If we have a race track in the city or close to it, we'd all be off the streets. Racing in a desolate industrial area at night is not that dangerous but still is a risk.

I've been there, I've raced my camaro and I survived. What do you guys think?

 

This is a really difficult topic to discuss because point A is that we don't have a track so what do we do? Point B is, don't race

In the end we should really have a track in Toronto somewhere. I don't know what else to say though.

but look at it this way, if we didn't have a place to play hockey and kids started playing it on the road and get arrested for it because it's a hazard, wouldn't it be unfair? Wouldn't the same rules apply?

 

Hockey is a recognized sports, street racing isn't. The risk difference between those two sports is huge. The worst playing hockey would do is a broken teeth or a smashed window. Racing on the street can take lives. So wrong example.

But still we should have more places where we can race, or just don't arrest us.

 

Look at it this way. Kids in Africa don't have schools, so they don't get educated. We don't have race tracks, we shouldn't race (on the street)

 

I think it should be kept on the tack, yes. But have i done it? Yes. Have I almost died or killed people - no. It's never going to stop. One of those gray area discussions.

What i think they should do is have a section in the industrial area where some cops will go sit along with a fire truck and an ambulance. Just to make sure everyone is safe and no-one is acting like a bunch of retards while doing it on the streets. thats just my opinion .

 

That's an idea. We pay our taxes, don't we?

exactly and have it set up for a friday and saturday night to keep it easily acceptable for most people. but we all know our governments will never go for something like this as for the money they make busting people doing this everyday sad but so true.
