The JL 6.5" may be tough to fit in there. But the kicker might fit. Note down the specification from their website and measure the dimension yourself. The magnet on the kicker subwoofer won't be any bigger than the magnet of a 6x9 speaker but you will have to double check. I think you could easily get a 6x9 to 6.5/6.0" baffle from your local quality audio store. Just don't go to futureshop or bestbuy for the kit - the guys there "generally" don't have a clue. The baffle shouldn't cost you more than $30. If they ask for more, then check other stores. (I remember talking to a guy who builds the baffle out of MDF for $30)

 

MDF is the best for good sound in my opinion. Talk to Brian (416) 723 - 5000 if Mississauga is convenient for you, he can probably help build one for you.

Ya I was the thinking the same there. The JL magnet seemed like it would be a problem. I'll definitely give that guy a call in regards to the MDF. Just got to take care of some other things with the car first.

 

What car is this for? I had an old 6x9 woofer lying around just a little while ago and I threw it out because of me moving. Only if I had known

 

It's for a '95 Prelude. Definitely a shame, ahhh well.
