Goodness, I've not posted in a while.
Ok, so what's happened.... Had an excellent trip over in July. Visited Montreal, Ottawa, Niagara for Canada day, that was awesome, and we stayed in Hamilton with friends. After two weeks of positive signals from my wife's boss, on the very last day of our trip he decided to tell her that he couldn't offer her a job transfer after all. What a fucking dick. Wife and kids in tears all the way home on the plane. So, we have started the immigration process ourselves. Done the essentials, like English tests and police reports, just gathering education transcripts etc and should be applying for a PR Visa this month. Will take anywhere from 7 months to two years to come through. Not the timescale I was hoping for, but at least we are taking our future into our own hands, instead of relying on some fat rat and his red tape. In the meantime, I am going to take some courses in automotive welding. I can weld a little, but it would be nice to be able to make some money out of my hobby. I'll update you when I have news. Dave. |

Yeah that's not a cool thing for her boss to do. I wanted to see your collection. As for welding, I've done my level 1 body repair and it includes a heck lot of MIG welding. You can either do something like that or second option which I saw today was a General Welding School in a small strip mall in Toronto. Their certificate (if any) won't be any good but they will teach you proper welding. If anything I would suggest you do the course here so there won't be any room for error in regulations and stuff.
