Hello from Scotland

Hello everyone, Dave here.

Why am I here?

Well, we're hoping to move over to your fine country in the near future, so I thought I'd better get to know the sort of people I would most likely be talking to. (that's you by the way)

One of my passions is the Mazda MX5, or Miata as you will know it, but don't panic, I'm not a girly hair-dresser, I have other cars too

I joined the Trillium Miata forum, but it's extremely quiet, and I don't want to wait a week for a response to a question.

I'll post my projects in the projects forum and you can see what I'm all about.

Dave.

Awesome, a reply already, that's more like it

I have plenty of questions, but I'll pace myself.

My biggest question is really if I should bring any cars with me when I immigrate

LOL, that would cost a few quid to bring them all. I would probably bring the Stock MX5 and the V8 MX5. The Scooby is too new for your 15 year old rule, and the Pajero would be a pain in the ass to get parts for.

Right, it's 2.37am here, I'd better get some sleep.

Thanks for the welcome.

Dave.

Welcome aboard. That's quite some distance you'd be covering. I hope you can bring at least the V8.

Thanks Genisis.

Yeah, we've been here long enough, time to try somewhere new. Canada seems cool, so why not

I'm a long way off getting the V8 project completed, so it may make more sense to strip for parts and start again in Canada Depends how soon we can get over)

Always fancied a Mustang or Charger anyway, but I do love the MX5

Wife had a chat with "da boss" yesterday, who said there was no reason he couln't make a transfer happen (branch in Burlington) but until I'm sitting on a plane, with all my worldly goods in some 40 foot container on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic, I won't believe it, lol.

You guys better be prepared for the invasion, I really like cars....a LOT

Update on immigration...

Things are moving along nicely.

Wife is heading over to Burlington this Wednesday with work, and to try and negotiate a new job.

Me and the kids will join her next Wednesday for our summer holidays

So we will be looking at some houses, and by houses, I mean large double garages with some rooms and a kitchen attached

Will have a look in the Hamilton area, as it looks like you get a lot more for your money than you would in Burlington. Also prefer the house style down there.

Keep some good weather for me!
