I have been working behind the curtain on a new skin for the forums for about 2 months - on and off. It's very close to completion and I wanted to give you a heads-up so you don't come to the forums one day and get surprised.

Almost everyone asked for a lighter skin and almost everyone said there wasn't enough contrast, plus the notification icons were too big and confusing when you look at the forums for a while.

Everything that was mentioned was heard and taken into consideration when I started making this new skin. I'm attaching a preview of what's to come.

Before things are finalized, it is very important for me to have your input. If you hate what you see below, tell me so I can fix it.

A few things that I don't like and will be adjusted but these are the areas I would like feedback.

- The red stripes are a bit too bright for my eyes. I'm thinking of making it less red.
- I want a column either on the left or the right for things like affiliates and such. Still working on it.
- Is the logo readable?
- Need a less lame slogan just below the logo. Get creative.

Looks great, the color scheme is nice, logo looks somewhat odd to me, kind of readable but at the same time kinda funny looking to me lol, but i really like the colors, not too bright on my eyes but stands out enough, i think we need to get some club member cars in the top right, i think that would be cool, not sure how ur gonna do it but thats my suggestion, looking forward to see this as the new skin soon

are you from trinidad? lol. seriously though. looks good. change is always good. definitely see what you're saying about the brightness of the red. but you definitely seem to be on the right track.

 

Is trinidad's flag red or something? that answers your question.
I'm actually getting some feedback from the email I sent out as well. I'll put up a variation of red and see which one is liked the most.

@zorf: Logo in my opinion looks good and yes a little hard to make out. Try and make this font readable on a bumper sticker And we can certainly get member cars up there, jusy have to take pictures from the right angle.

No freaking out but I just installed "beta" version of the skin on the forums. Please note that many images may show up as broken but I just haven't finished things yet and I have to go to my class.

Looks good but when ever Im posting I can't see my mouse cursor...maybe its my own color settings.

 

That could be because of windows setting, there's an option to hide pointer when typing, it's not a forum thing. But I could be wrong on that too. Have you tried the revision skin that's installed on this forum, it's called TCF v3.1 - see if you can find the mouse pointer with the revised skin.

There you have it. The new skin is in good enough shape that I can confidently replace the old dark one. Now you guys can fully browse all sections and see how each place on the forums look like. Do let me know if you find something broken or out of place.
