Now my breaks squeal whenever i hit the pedal. i took it back to him and i can swear it doesnt squeal when he takes it out for a test drive.

i drove the car with him and they STOP squealing. this has been going on for weeks and i have taken the car back three time and getting frustrated.

i think he ripped me because i dont know about cars and rely on professionals to take care of things. Honestly my breaks were fine as far as i could feel before the repair and now it's gone bad. i feel like reporting the guy but what if i'm doing something wrong?

any help you guys can give me would be great.

Its most likely the pads. Depending on the composition of the pads there can be more metallics than others. The squealing could go away after wearing for a while. The only other way would be to replace the pads. What kind of car is it? Some cars are more prone to that problem than others. Switching to a Ceramic pad can help, or sometimes OEM dealer parts are best.

Fustration is understandable, and isnt it always the case, vehicles never do the things you want them too when you bring them in to get checked.

my first question to you is did the mech. replace your pads and rotors with aftermarket parts (non original parts)? I know in some cases aftermarket brake components react in a different way then OEM (brake noise and comfort).

It would be hard for him to diagnose the problem if nothing is wrong when you bring it in to him. ask him to take the brakes apart and re-lubricate all the points. then go from there. If the problem persists then you might want to look into getting the OEM parts installed (providing that aftermarket are installed now)

RE:Brakes squeak after changing rotors and pads

I think you should go to again those where you have done repair of your car and they shouted him . one main reason is the new brakes it cause you have to feel uncomfortable .

I would bet on no lube on the contact between the caliper piston and outer "fingers". I apply the PermaTex new "fluorescent purple" lube (good to some temps only found on the sun). Squeal is usually caused by a vibrating pad, and later by brake dust accumulation in/on contact surfaces. Heavy braking in the first 200 km. after installation will also cause issues.

Oops, should proof-read! It should say between the rear of the pads or their shims and those two contact areas.
